Closing the Meal Gap: Oracle and Central Texas Food Bank Partner to End Hunger

May13

The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is on a mission to ensure anyone facing hunger in our 21-county service area has access to healthy, nourishing food. At this time in 2024, we serve 74,000 Central Texans facing food insecurity on a weekly basis. Thankfully, we're not alone in our mission. We have incredible partners like Oracle, a global technology leader with a deep commitment to giving back.

Oracle goes beyond its status as a leading software company by actively investing in the communities it serves. The partnership between Oracle and CTFB began nearly 20 years ago, and the impact has been extraordinary. To date, their contributions have totaled nearly $500,000, alongside over 5,000 volunteer hours from their dedicated employees. Last year alone, 223 Oracle employees generously donated over 663 hours! This incredible volunteer spirit is a testament to Oracle's company culture.

This partnership recently took another significant step forward when CTFB was awarded a $100,000 grant from Oracle. These critical funds will directly address food insecurity by providing fresh produce through our network of 250 partner agencies and core programs. This includes vital initiatives like Healthy Options Program for the Elderly (HOPE) and Mobile Food Pantry.

Thanks to partners like Oracle, we distributed over 60 million pounds of food last year. With their continued support, we aim to reach even more individuals and families facing food insecurity this year.
