The Central Texas Food Bank celebrates the opening of its new onsite emergency food pantry which will provide access to free and nutritious food for neighbors in need. Austin City Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes joined President and CEO Sari Vatske to share remarks on the impact of hunger in Central Texas during the ceremony. Feeding Texas and Feeding America were also in attendance.
Lisa Humphrey started in October 2021 as the Central Texas Food Bank Community Insights Manager. Her work is focused on using qualitative data analysis to help support Central Texans facing hunger.
This Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta Sororities volunteered in the Food Bank’s warehouse to kick off Service Week with us!
With support from the VA, Grant was able to get the resources he needed to find housing. Through the transition, he finds additional help at his local mobile food pantry.
After an accident at work left Roman temporarily disabled, he was forced to retire. With months of rehabilitation for his injury and a new fixed budget to adjust to, he turned to the Food Bank to help support his family.
