The spirit of giving is a pillar of our community, especially during the holiday season. If you’re looking for ways to give back this month, we’ve got you covered.
As we approach Veteran’s Day, we are thankful and proud to serve families like Linda’s who have sacrificed so much for our country. Linda and Billy are retired Army veterans who enjoy living in the veteran-friendly community of Waco. Rising costs took a toll on their family this year, so Linda turned to the Food Bank for help at the local VA mobile pantry.
A widow with a giving heart, Marian is sure to care for family and friends as much as she cares for her own health. She finds support for her dietary needs in the food she receives from the Food Bank, which also helps with her healthcare costs.
Nik Vicknair has a lifetime of experience in caregiving roles, prior to joining the Food Bank as a Mobile Pantry Distribution Specialist. "I've always stayed busy," Nik observes.
As retired Navy veteran, Richard feels safest at the VA, so it comes as a welcome relief to visit the Central Texas Food Bank’s mobile pantry distribution at the VA in Temple to pick up groceries each month.
Cousins and best friends, Kathy and Dixie, have faced their share of hardships over the years. They stick through it all together as a family and turn to the Food Bank for help with food.
