Yesterday, the Supporting America’s Charites Act, HR 5806, failed to pass in the House by eight votes. 

This week the America Gives More Act (HR 4719) was re-worked as a simple, charity support bill now called the Supporting America's Charities Act (HR 5806) that provides three distinct opportunities to support nonprofits like the Food Bank.

If passed, this act could make available millions of pounds of food for food banks across the nation. Yes, millions!

"Passage of this legislation will make it easier for farmers, retailers, restaurants and food manufacturers to donate millions of pounds of food to food banks across our country," said Bob Aiken, CEO of Feeding America.
