Austin Beverage Company Donates 6,000 Bottles of Coconut Water to Central Texas Food Bank in Response to Covid-19

AUSTIN, TX – Pura Coco, a coconut water-based beverage company, headquartered in downtown Austin, has made it a priority to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank during this time of need, as there have been fewer donations from retailers and a drastic increase in families seeking help.

Last week, Pura Coco donated 6,000 bottles of coconut water in response to Covid-19, with an additional 19,000 bottles over the last 6 months.

“Coconut Water is one of the healthiest beverages you can drink with more electrolytes than sports drinks and more potassium than bananas,” says Burnett Treat, CEO and Founder of Pura Coco. “Everyone is doing what they can to assist during this unprecedented time, whether that’s sewing masks or providing meals and housing… so we wanted to make our healthy beverages available to those in need.”

Pura Coco is a Costa Rica/Austin, TX based company that produces cold-filtered coconut water and the world’s first coconut water cold-brew coffee. Their state-of-the-art production facility runs on 100% renewable energy and they work directly with local coconut farmers to be as sustainable and fairly traded as possible.

Pura Coco is currently available in HEB's Central Markets and select Natural Grocers across Texas.
