Thanks for an Amazing Austin Reggae Fest 2017!

May22

This year’s Austin Reggae Festival embodied all that is good in Austin:  amazing music, beautiful weather, great food, local arts and crafts, and kindhearted reggae fans.

Thanks to everyone’s support, the festival raised more than $90,000, equivalent to more than 360,000 meals for families in need. The funds raised come just in time for our busy summer season when more Central Texans turn to the Food Bank for help.

Despite the festival getting rained out the last couple of years, festival attendees weren’t discouraged and came out to support a great cause. Thank you for your support.  We felt the love at the gate as guests cheerfully slipped an extra donation to the Food Bank on their way into festival grounds.  There’s nothing like the unique reggae vibes each festivalgoer brings to make the event extra special.

The line-up featured local and international acts that rallied the crowd to their feet to dance to ska, dancehall, dub and of course, reggae. Headliners included Tarrus Riley, Jesse Royal and Akae Beka. Thanks to all the musicians for making the festival a huge success and blowing everyone away with their incredible sets.

After more than ten years, the festival has become a landmark in the Austin live music scene. We’d like to give a special thanks to the festival organizers for making it happen year after year, and making this year a great success. We would also like to give a special shout out to all the companies who donated food to our volunteers ensuring they were energized for their shift:  Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, Thundercloud Subs, Via 313, Pollo Tropical and Subway.

Austin Reaggae Festival 2017 was amazing! We’ll see you at next year's Reggae Fest, scheduled April 20 to April 22!
