SNAP Judgement

Mar24

The House has proposed $125 billion in cuts to to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or food stamps, over the next 10 years to help balance the federal budget.  There are two ways the House Budget Committee plas to accomplish this: removing 11 to 12 million people from the program, cutting benefits an average of almost $55 per person per month, or some combination of both.  The average benefit in Texas is  $115.30 per month. Deciding who will be cut from the program and how will be made entirely by your state's elected officials, funded by a sum of money called a block grant which will provided to each state.

What would you choose?

As an advocate, you get to influence how your legislators will vote on what happens to the people who use food stamps.  Learn what could happen at SNAP Judgement.
