Mace Calls for Kids to Join his #NoHunger Team to raise 100,000 Meals!

Oct19

As the holidays near, some children are already thinking about their presents or what they’re going to be doing on their days off from school, but not 9-year-old Mace Massingill.

Mace is thinking about how he can help bring a meal to his neighbors’ table. His passion to fight hunger is unbelievable.

Two years ago, Mace never imagined that the food he collected at a family Thanksgiving dinner would turn into an annual food drive that has helped provide thousands of meals for families facing hunger.

After dropping off his donation at the Food Bank, he realized he could do more and set out to collect 1,000 meals that year. He was shocked to know he had raised more than 5,000 meals.

That was just the start for the young hunger fighter.

“There are still hungry people out there, and I am not stopping until there are no more hungry people,” Mace said.

Last year, he surprised the community by raising 31,000 meals and surpassing his goal of 10,000 meals.

With each passing year, his goal to raise more meals keeps getting higher and this year is no different.

From October through December 31, Mace will collect food and monetary donations with a goal of raising 100,000 meals. You can make a monetary donation through his virtual food drive here.

To reach his biggest goal yet, he is launching his “Hunger Captain” program and encouraging other children to join his #NoHunger team.  Any children who would like join his team can e-mail him at macesfooddrive@gmail.com, and they will receive a packet with details on how to host a food drive just like him.

Each year, Mace keeps blowing us away with everything he does for his community. We can’t wait to see how many meals he raises this year!
