Help Feed Austin's Future During Amplify Austin

Jan30

Amplify Austin day has become a staple in the Austin area. Once the 24-hour Day of Giving countdown begins, Austinites rally together to make their home town a better place by donating to their favorite charities.

Last year, the event raised more than $11.2 million for more than 750 Austin area nonprofits, including the Central Texas Food Bank.

Thanks to the support of 1,150 donors, the Food Bank raised $398,894.82 last year to help feed our Central Texas neighbors in need. This year, we need your help again to make an even greater impact.

In Central Texas, hunger affects our youngest and most vulnerable neighbors: kids. It’s a serious problem. One in five kids don’t know if they’ll have food on the table when they come home from school.

No one should go hungry, especially children. Without food, it can be hard for kids to get through the day—from waking up, to going to school to participating in their favorite activities. That’s why we have children-specific programs to provide meals after school, on the weekends and during school breaks. Additionally, families can get healthy food to take home at our partner pantries.

Help feed Austin’s future during Amplify Austin from 6 p.m. on March 5 to 6 p.m. on March 6. Though the Day of Giving is less than a month away, there’s no need to wait to take action. You can make your gift early.

Why should you give early? We need to raise $10,000 by March 4 to secure a $10,000 match from former Food Bank President and CEO Hank Perrett!

With your support, we can ensure kids have access to the nourishing meals they need to grow and make their dreams come true.
