Central Texans Tackle Hunger, Raising Millions of Meals

Feb05

The New England Patriots aren’t the only one’s celebrating a big win. Central Texans are celebrating an even bigger victory against hunger. For nearly a month, our champions helped us tackle hunger during Souper Bowl of Caring.

Though the final donations are still being delivered to the Food Bank, with the help from our amazing community, we have raised 2.8 million meals and counting for our neighbors struggling to make ends meet.

The donations couldn’t have come at a better time.

With the government shutdown affecting thousands of federal employees, the sudden increased demand for food put a strain on our resources. The Souper Bowl of Caring donations will help us restock our shelves.

Time and time again, we are blown away by the generosity from our community who always comes together when families need it most.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our friends and long-time supporters: H-E-B, Randalls and Central Market.

They made it so easy for families to tackle hunger. Encouraged by store employees, customers were able to tackle hunger by purchasing pre-packed bags of healthy, nonperishable food or by making a monetary donation at the register.

Huge thanks to everyone who supported us during Souper Bowl of Caring. Thanks to you, families have a meal on their table. Y’all are champions!
