Amplify Austin Sets New Record, Thanks to You

Mar02

Amplify Austin was a huge success thanks to our incredible community! We are astonished by the generosity of our neighbors in helping us build a healthier, hunger-free community.

Thanks to 1,063 donors, the Food Bank raised $281,528 in 24 hours! We shattered our goal of raising $225,000 to provide fresh produce for more than 4,500 families of four for a month.

Thanks to you, food-insecure families that would otherwise have to do without fresh produce can count on the Food Bank for fruits and vegetables to maintain a balanced diet.

This success wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our former President & CEO, Hank Perret, who helped us kick off the day of giving by matching donations up to $10,000 during the first six hours of Amplify.

To help get the donations rolling the next day, the Wood Family inspired others to give during a power hour from 10-11 a.m. and matched donations up to $10,000. Thank you Wood Family for your continuous support over the past four years. Amplify wouldn’t be the same without your help.

To help finish off strong, our board and CEO united to encourage our neighbors to give by matching donations during the last six hours of the event. Donors poured in between 1-2 p.m. and helped us win the "most donors" $1,000 booster prize. We can’t thank everyone enough for helping out.

The excitement doesn’t end there. The St. David’s Foundation is matching the donations made to their partners up to $1 million. Thank you for helping the Food Bank and other nonprofits create a stronger community.

The Food Bank was one of 702 nonprofits participating in Amplify Austin hosted by I live Here I Give Here. Overall, the event raised $10,353,937 for the greater-Austin area. It’s amazing to see everyone come together to help their neighbors. Special thanks to all who helped fight hunger!
