Food Stamp Outreach and Education

Food stamps are a key way to address the nutritional needs of low-income Texas families and one of the nation's most important defenses against hunger.  However, many barriers to participation remain. Nationally, only 60 percent of those eligible for food stamps receive them.  In Texas, only 58 percent of those eligible receive food stamps.
