Priority Mail: Nourishing Hungry Central Texans 19th Annual “Stamp Out Hunger” the Nation’s Largest One-Day Food Drive This Saturday, May 14
Austin, TX — How
it works
- Help the Capital Area Food Bank
(CAFB) and the National Association of Letter Carriers nourish hungry Central
Texans during the largest one-day food drive in the nation, “Stamp Out Hunger,”
on Saturday, May 14.
- H-E-B provides donation bags which
are placed in mailboxes across Central Texas
this week. If you don’t receive a H-E-B bag, any other sturdy paper or plastic
bag will do.
- Place a bag of healthy,
non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your regular mail delivery on
Saturday, May 14 and your letter carrier will pick it up for you and deliver to
the Food Bank.
- All food collected locally will be
made available to the Food Bank’s 355 Partner Agencies in 21 Central Texas counties.
- This year’s goal is 200,000 pounds of
food.
- Can also drop off your food donation
at one of four H-E-B stores on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3
