Child Nutrition Reauthorization: 150 Texas Organizations Take Action Austin, TX — The Capital Area Food Bank and nearly 150 charities, associations, and agencies throughout the state signed a letter addressed to Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-25) urging Congress to pass a fully-funded Child Nutrition Reauthorization bill before the September 30, when the legislation expires. This important joint effort demonstrates a shared agenda among widespread and diverse organizations in Texas to improve the lives of children at risk of hunger. We believe strong federal child nutrition programs are essential for their nourishment, health, and well-being. To view the letter, click here. The Capital Area Food Bank thanks all of the Texas organizations that signed on to this letter and advocates throughout the state who continue to make calls and write letters to their representatives. Through these collective efforts, we can make a difference in the lives of low-income children and their families in our state and the nation.
