Austin Reggae Festival – Extended to Three Days, April 16-18
Headliners include Easy Star All Stars, the Mighty Diamonds and Sierra Leone All Stars

Auditorium Shores (Riverside at S 1st St) —

The warm, sunny weather of spring brings the 17th annual Austin Reggae Festival to the city's favorite outdoor venue, Auditorium Shores. This year's event has been extended to three days, beginning Friday afternoon, April 16, and continuing through Sunday evening, April 18. The Austin Reggae Festival benefits the Capital Area Food Bank.

Festival headliners include the Easy Star All Stars (Friday, April 16), the Mighty Diamonds (Saturday, April 17) and the Sierra Leone All Stars (Sunday, April 18). Other top-notch national and international reggae acts include Ashes of Babylon, Az One, the Bandulus, Benjy Myaz, Cas Haley, Don Chani, Grimy Styles, Los Skarnales, Roots Revealers, Mau Mau Chaplains, Mystic Roots, Spiritual, and Subrosa Union. See http://www.austinreggaefest.com/lineup.html for a full schedule and complete band info.

Admission for the 2010 Austin Reggae Festival is just $12.50 per day if purchased in advance. Advance tickets are on sale now at all Planet K locations in Austin, San Antonio and San Marcos. Ticket price for walkup admission is $15 per day (all fees included).

A portion of the admission fee goes to the Capital Area Food Bank. Although additional donations are not required for entry, CAFB volunteers will be on hand at the gates of the Austin Reggae Festival to collect your non-perishable food items and cash donations. The 2009 Austin Reggae Festival raised over 10,000 pounds of food as well as just under $200,000 to help nourish our less fortunate neighbors. Over the last 16 years, the Austin Reggae Festival has raised more than 350,000 pounds of food for hungry Central Texans.

Gates for the Austin Reggae Festival open at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 16. On Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18, gates open at 11:00 am. Once inside, you can claim your piece of the Shores (blankets and chairs welcome) to enjoy almost ten hours of live music each day.

In addition to continuous live music, the Austin Reggae Fest boasts the city’s largest third-world market offering clothes, jewelry and other great gift ideas from around the world. As you stroll the tree-lined market area, you can also visit the international food booths and sample an amazing variety of tasty treats. The Austin Reggae Festival closes at 10:30 pm on Friday, April 16 and at 10:00 pm on Saturday, April 17 and Sunday, April 18.

No dogs allowed at the Austin Reggae Festival.

Special thanks to Flamingo Cantina for producing the musical acts for the 2010 Austin Reggae Festival.
