A Simple “Like” Can Help the Food Bank Win $1 Million Austin, TX — Austin, TX – With Texas ranking among the nation’s top states for food insecurity, the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB) is asking residents of the 21 Central Texas counties it serves, to participate in the Walmart Fighting Hunger Facebook campaign. The food bank that serves the community with the most “likes” will be awarded $1 million in grants. “Walmart is giving Central Texans an incredible opportunity to help feed hungry families,” said CAFB Interim President and CEO, Hank Perret. “All it takes is a click of the mouse and you can help bring resources to those in need.” Visitors to Walmart’s Fighting Hunger Facebook page will help determine which community in America will receive a $1 million grant to fight hunger. Five runner-up communities with the highest support will receive $100,000 each. Through December 31, Texans can cast their vote at http://fightinghunger.walmart.com. Ways To Help
