40,000 Lbs Of Donated Dairy Products Helps Central Texans Celebrate This Holiday Season


Austin, TX —

 

It just wouldn’t be the holiday season without families around the dinner table, so Land O’Lakes is making sure thousands of central Texans are ready for their holiday meal. As part of its First Run program, Land O’Lakes has committed to donating truckloads of fresh product to food banks quarterly to help alleviate hunger nationwide.

 

WHO: Land O’Lakes, Capital Area Food Bank, Texas Department of Agriculture

WHAT: Delivery of 40,000 lbs. of donated LAND O LAKES® dairy products

WHEN: Tuesday, December 6, 2011 11 – 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Capital Area Food Bank, 8201 South Congress (Receiving dock at the NE side of the building).

VISUALS: A semi-truck with 40,000 lbs of dairy products unloaded and placed in a 160,000 cu. ft. freezer.

The donation of LAND O LAKES® product to Capital Area Food Bank of Texas is Land O’Lakes tenth donation in the second year of its First Run program. The Austin donation is one of four First Run donations this quarter totaling 160,000 lbs. of product. Donations also are being made today in Detroit, Mich., Springfield, Mo., and Visalia, Calif.
