How To Help:
Food Industry Donations
Retail groceries, food manufactures, growers and food distributors now have a cost effective way to manage unsalable food and non-food items by donating to the Food Bank. For every pound of food donated, the Food Bank can provide the equivalent of .8 meals!

“Businesses thrive when the community and their workers are healthy and happy. Businesspeople should care greatly about the needs of our community, and I'm so glad that H-E-B and I can work with the Food Bank to help make this a reality." Laura Estes - H-E-B Director of Retail Operations Central Texas Region, CAFB Board Member |
Why Donate?
In addition to helping the more than 40,000 Central Texans each week who receive emergency food assistance, your business enjoys a variety of benefits.
Save Money: Save on disposal costs of unsalable food, eliminate surplus inventory and maximize the efficiency of your warehouse. Federal tax law permits you to deduct your donation.
Free Donation Pick Up: For donations more than 350 lbs, the Food Bank can pick up your donation. Schedule a donation pick-up online.
Professional Donation Management: All donations are tracked using a coding system for product recall management and to ensure your donation does not re-enter the marketplace. The Food Bank's warehouse and truck fleet can safely handle the transportation and storage of frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable product.
The Food Bank follows America's Second Harvest - the Nation's Food Bank Network and the Texas Department of Health safety standards. All drivers are DOT certified.
Community Recognition and Goodwill: Your brand integrity is maintained through the distribution process. The Food Bank also promotes donors in marketing communications and provides you with any receipts and acknowledgments needed.
Liability Protection: The Federal Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act protects you from civil and criminal liability.
