The goal of the Capital Area Food Bank Foundation is to provide a consistent, long-term source of income to the Food Bank. Regardless of the current economy, CAFB wants to keep transporting truckloads of food from all over the country into the warehouse, to keep its barn-sized freezer operating and to keep the fleet of trucks on the road picking up and delivering food. The Capital Area Food Bank Foundation also allows CAFB to sustain effective programs well into the future and continue to be THE emergency food response organization for Central Texas.

Consider a donation of
appreciated property to
the CAFB Foundation!

If you own stocks, bonds, mutual funds or other assets that have increased in value since the time of purchase, you may find it advantageous to donate them to the CAFB Foundation.

Your outright gift of long-term, appreciated securities is exempt from capital gains taxes and, if you itemize, you may claim a charitable income tax deduction equal to the full market value of the property at the time of transfer.

For gifts of property, your gift is fully deductible for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and, like gifts of cash, may be carried forward for up to five years.

Gifts made through planned giving and wills, as well as gifts of cash are also accepted by the Capital Area Food Bank Foundation.

For more information on how you can help sustain the future of the Food Bank, contact David Davenport, President & CEO, or call your tax consultant.

The Feed Our Seniors Fund provides programs for seniors in need. Senior citizens rank among the largest group in the United States who are food insecure.

The Feed Our Kids Fund guarantees the Food Bank's programs for children are consistently supported.

The Feeding Central Texas Fund assures that the Food Bank continues to reach even the most distant parts of the service territory.

The Fresh Food Rescue Fund ensures that this resource continues to be utilized for the benefit of our neighbors in need.

Your support of the General Endowment Fund will ensure that the most essential of the Food Bank's distribution services can be carried out on a daily basis. It is no small feat to distribute millions of pounds of food each month, and it requires a strong infrastructure. Facilities and vehicles are the real foundation of the Food Bank's operations.

Your financial contribution to the Capital Area Food Bank Foundation will insure the stability of the Food Bank for years to come, as we continue to feed our hungry neighbors throughout Central Texas.
