Community Events

Thousands of community events, Food & Fund drives and cause-related marketing campaigns benefit the Food Bank each year. Kerbey Lane Cafe's 6th annual Can and Cash Drive

All locations

For every two healthy, non-perishable food items you bring, you'll receive $1 off of your tab with a maximum of $5 off.  They are also accepting cash donations on behalf of the Capital Area Food Bank.


Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival

Sunday, August 24
Fiesta Gardens (2100 Jesse E. Segovia St. Austin, TX)
Noon to 5 p.m.
Suggested Entry:  $5 donation or three non-perishable food items for the Capital Area Food Bank

Sample all the spicy goodness you can handle at the world's largest hot sauce festival featuring over 350 salsas and hot sauces in the tasting pavilion.  Enjoy music by Rosie & the Ramblers, Gumbo Ce Soir, El Tule, LaTasha Lee & The BlackTies. This free, family-friendly event has raised more than 45,000 meals for the Food Bank last year.  Learn more at the festival web page. 



Charming Charlie

Every Thursday in July 10% of purchases at Charming Charlie at the Domain supports the Capital Area Food Bank's Summer Meals That Matter campaign.   Visit their store at the Domain 3220 Feathergrass Court, Suite 112, Austin.

Round Rock Express

The Round Rock Express will give you a free lawn ticket to their home games when you bring two H-E-B branded canned food items to the Dell Diamond on game day. All donations benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. For a schedule of home games please visit their website.

Ongoing Events

Cars and Coffee Austin

Join the John Eagle European Car and Coffee at The Oasis on Lake Travis every second Sunday of the month from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. This Cruise-In is an informal, come-and-go event for the Classic, Vintage, Antique and Exotic automotive enthusiasts. This event is free and open to the public.  Donations to support the Food Bank are accepted at our booth. For more information visit their website.

Purgatory Players Gospel Brunch

Every Sunday morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Strange Brew, join the Purgatory Players Jeff Plankenhorn, Jon Dee Graham, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Jon Greene, & Seela Misrafor for "Gospel music for the nondenominational-folk".  This event is free and open to the public.  Donations to support the Food Bank are accepted at every show.
