Rolling Stones Photo Exhibit
Oscar Decker had the opportunity to photograph and work on the backline with the The Rolling Stones as they toured the world for about 11 years. This exhibit will highlight some of his greatest Rolling Stones pictures while raising money for the Capital Area Food Bank through monetary donations for entry into the exhibit. Everyone, especially Rolling Stones fans, would greatly enjoy this event!

Capital City Collision (4304 Burch Dr. Del Valle, TX 78617) is hosting a year-long food drive to help customers save money on their deductible or total and support Capital Area Food Bank at the same time. Non-perishable food items will be accepted as cash towards deductibles and total costs to repair. If a customer pays with insurance, each item donated will be valued at $10 and deducted from your total deductible up to $300. If a customer prefers to pay out of pocket, 15% will be deducted from the total cost. The value of the 15% deduction will equate to the amount of food donated (at $10 per item). Awesome local music and a heated hot sauce competition make this a can't-miss event every year. Monetary and healthy, non-perishable food donations are accepted at the entrance. CANstruction Make a difference in the fight against hunger by joining us for CANstruction Austin, a charity event committed to ending hunger around the globe. Competing teams, led by local architects, engineers and builders showcase their talents by designing and building giant sculptures made entirely of canned foods. At the close of the construction exhibition, all of the food used in the structures is donated to the Capital Area Food Bank to help nourish hungry Central Texans. CROP Hunger Walk CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk help raise funds to end hunger around the world and at home. Held the first full weekend in March, Church World Service brings together neighbors of different ages, faiths and backgrounds walking together to raise money for hunger, disaster relief and self development projects around the world and in Austin. Locally, funds support CAFB's Fresh Food for Families, Healthy Options for the Elderly, "Wheels of Sharing" Mobile Food Pantry and select Partner Agencies. The route is one mile long. Stamp Out Hunger On the Saturday before Mother's Day, join the U.S. Letter carriers in the largest one-day food drive in the nation. U.S. Letter carriers collect bags of healthy, non-perishable food while on their routes across the US. Look for your H-E-B paper bag in your mailbox, fill it with healthy, non-perishable food and set it by your mailbox on Saturday to be picked up. All food donations are then checked for safety and quality, and distributed to a CAFB Partner Agency who then provide the food to hungry Central Texans. Learn more. |
