The 45th annual Championship and Household Pet Cat Show and Benefit 

Saturday, October 4 from 9 A.M. -  5 P.M.

Austin Cat Fanciers is holding their annual cat show to collect food donations for the Food Bank.  Receive a discount on admission when you bring people food to donate. 

Adults: $3 plus 2 cans of people food, $5 without food donations
Children: $1 plus 2 cans of people food, $3 without food donation


Pappas Restaurant "Bite to Fight Hunger"

October 6 -12

Pappas is committed to help support the local families and organizations that strengthen the neighborhoods in which they operate. When you purchase a dessert from any Austin-area Pappas Restaurant, they will donate $1 to the Food Bank up to $55,000.


Widespread Panic "Feeding People Through Music" Food Drive Concert

What began as a grassroots effort by Widespread Panic fans to mobilize local communities to feed the hungry has turned into a Band-driven food drive at almost every concert on their tour.  The “Feeding People through Music” concert series is coming to Austin on June 14 and 15 at the Moody Theater.  To support their efforts, please bring two healthy, non-perishable food items or a monetary donation to support the Capital Area Food Bank.  When you drop off your food and cash donations, you'll also have a chance to win raffle prizes provided by the band. Winners will be picked at random by the Food Bank at the conclusion of each drive. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit their website.


Carnivore's Ball

Bring your stretchy pants for the "ultimate meat event" for the discerning meat enthusiast hosted by Jess Pryles (AKA Burger Mary). This event features meat-tastic meals by Freedmen's Bar, Salt & Time, Slow Bone and others. Drinks and desserts by Sugar Mama's Bakeshop, Moonshine, Saint Arnold, Garrison Brothers Distillery and others will enhance your meatstravaganza experience. Umlauf Sculpture Garden Pumpkin Carving Competition

Sunday, October 26

Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum (605 Robert E. Lee Road, Austin, Texas)

Grab a pumpkin at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and museum and learn the tricks of the trade to carving a jack-o'-lantern from Professor Pumpkin. Then, enter your masterpiece in the competition to win bragging rights and prizes.  Admission is free when you bring three healthy, nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank.  This event is sponsored in part by H-E-B.

East Austin Community Fall Festival

Meet neighbors new and old to enjoy good food and good music at this family-friendly event.  You'll be entertained by local artists including DJ Crash Of The Dirty Wormz. Take part in the community Flash MOB. Children under 4 are free.  Please bring healthy, nonperishable food items to donate to the Food Bank. Residents, staff, family and friends are invited to help the Clairmont Retirement Community"Fill the Bus" with canned goods to support the Food Bank. Cash and check donations are also welcome.

Cars and Coffee Austin

Join the John Eagle European Car and Coffee at The Oasis on Lake Travis every second Sunday of the month from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. This Cruise-In is an informal, come-and-go event for the Classic, Vintage, Antique and Exotic automotive enthusiasts. This event is free and open to the public.  Donations to support the Food Bank are accepted at our booth. For more information visit their website.

Purgatory Players Gospel Brunch

Every Sunday morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Strange Brew, join the Purgatory Players Jeff Plankenhorn, Jon Dee Graham, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Jon Greene, & Seela Misra for "Gospel music for the nondenominational-folk".  This event is free and open to the public.  Donations to support the Food Bank are accepted at every show.
