Cheesecake Factory “Share the Spirit”

Indulge in the Cheesecake Factory’s number one selling dessert, Stephanie’s Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake, while helping feed those in need! From July 2009 until July 2010, the Cheesecake Factory will donate $0.25 to Feeding America for every slice of Stephanie’s Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake sold. “The Biggest Loser” Pound for Pound Challenge

This year, lose weight while helping to feed the hungry.  We invite you to join us in the Pound for Pound Challenge created by NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” and Feeding America.  For every pound you lose through June 30, 2010, General Mills will donate $0.14 cents to Feeding America – enough to deliver one bag of groceries to the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas to help feed our hungry Central Texas neighbors!  All you have to do is take the pledge, begin your sensible diet and exercise plan, and watch your weight loss generate pounds of groceries for those in need!

Hoops for Hunger

Every year, loyal Longhorns donate thousands of pounds of food at UT Athletics’ events.  This, February, the Texas Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams ask fans to bring healthy, non-perishable food items for the Food Bank to their home games. Austin Marathon (26 Miles for 26 Charities)
7 a.m.

Raise funds for hungry Central Texans by participating in the 2010 Austin Marathon (half or full). The Austin Marathon supports 26 charities for 26.2 miles. You don’t have to be an avid runner to participate. In fact, you can walk the Half Marathon.

We’re inviting each CAFB team member to raise a minimum of $350 for the Half Marathon and $500 for the Full Marathon.  Join the CAFB running team by September 28 for the Full Marathon and by October 26 for the Half Marathon and receive a 50 percent discount on Rogue Running’s training program. Click here for more information.

Come race or cheer family and friends in the Austin Motorcyclist’s 20th Annual Bunny Run! The children’s Easter egg hunt begins at 11 a.m. and the adult hunt begins at noon, followed by a party with music, food, fun and more! The event is $5 per person, $3 for the party only or bring 3 healthy, non-perishable food items to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.
