About Us:
What is Food Banking?
Here's how the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas delivers more than 15 million pounds of food and grocery products per year:

The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) receives food from state, regional and industry sources.

The food is inspected and stored in a 60,000 square foot Distribution Center.

A shopping list of available products is provided to all CAFB Partner Agencies. Partner Agencies place their order online or by fax.

CAFB staff and volunteers pick, sort and pack each individual order.

Local Partner Agencies pick up their food at the Capital Area Food Bank Distribution Center.

Some Partner Agencies in regional areas of the 21 Central Texas counties served get their food delivered.
All Partner Agencies maintain their own food pantries or on-site feeding programs. They distribute the groceries or prepared meals to individuals and families in their service area.
